No Cellda? For shame. I actually thought Wind Waker was better than Twilight Princess. That must be the softcore in me talking…
Btw, does anyone know the name of that Metroid remix track they use right after saying “third place console” near the beginning? Must. Get.

Decent list. The narrator is a douchebag, though. The whole “Err, Gamecube was third place” schtick is lame.
It should have been…
01. Metroid Prime
02. Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
03. Resident Evil 4
04. Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker
05. Super Mario Sunshine
06. Super Smash Bros. Melee
07. Metroid Prime: Echoes
08. Eternal Darkness: Sanity’s Requiem
09. Donkey Kong Jungle Beat
10. F-Zero GX
Speaking of Zelda and Infendo…I’ve gotta tell you, Blake, I am a little disappointed in you and Scott’s (seemingly) general unenthusiasm for Twilight Princess on Wii. Every time you guys mention the game on Infendo Radio, it seems you are slagging it or, at the very least, uninterested in playing it. I was just wondering why.
I think it is the best Zelda game ever made. Easily.

Anon,
To be honest, I just feel Twilight Princess hit a tad too late in a post Wii world. I like it, don’t get me wrong, I guess I just still think Nintendo should have released it in 2005 on the Cube when it was ready. I know Scott feels the same, but no hatin’ by any means. Just not excited about it anymore (maybe someday I’ll finish it…)
Cheers!

10 Viewtiful Joe
9 F-Zero GX
8 Custom Robo
7 Eternal Darkness
6 Resident Evil 4
5 Pikmin 2
4 Wind Waker
3 Killer 7
2 Super Smash Bros Melee
1 Battalion Wars
Easily (I mean hard as fuck to pick my favs) my picks for top Gamecube games.
Its a shame they had to add that how can it be a top 1 without Mario, Link…nonsense. Nintendo systems are far more then just the classics, its just that everyone expects pure greatness out of the big names that they forget that other games can be just as good.
TP is outstanding but I only had real time with the Wii version and Wind Waker was honestly a more immersive game and the music was better.

Twilight Princess for me was a disappointment; sure it was a good game. But in my opinion The Wind Waker was a far more unique game, and I’m not just saying that based on the graphics. Which is why I’m surprised it didn’t make the list.
Despite that, I do mostly agree with the titles they chosen.

In really no order at all:
Chibi-Robo
Donkey Kong Jungle Beat
Super Smash Bros. Melee
Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker
Mario Kart: Double Dash
Animal Crossing
Fire Emblem: Path Of Radiance
Paper Mario: Thousand Year Door
SSX 3
Lego Star Wars
Dragonah
I’m not sure if you were joking around when you were wondering what metroid song remix they played when they announced the third place game, But It’s the Magmoor Caverns song straight out of the original Metroid Prime.

Twilight Princess was the biggest disappointment I have ever known. It had no soul at all. It was a generic action-adventure game worthy of some obscure 3rd-party developer. Compared to wind Waker, it is absolute shit!!!
This is what happens when Nintendo listens to the vocal minority on the internet. Rather than blazing thier own trail, Nintendo caved in and gave the trolls exactly what they have been screaming for since the legendary Spaceworld 2000(?) demo. A tedious, boring set of chores that had none of the heart or whimsy of past Zelda games. A waste of nearly 60 hours of my life.
Miyamoto has said that TP would be the last of the “traditional style” Zelda games. Before I played TP, a statement like that would make me worried. After TP, I say bring on the changes. Something needs to be done before Zelda games become the next Sonic games.

Yeah, Wind Waker was the best game on gamecube, in my opinion. But I’m sure the average american prefers Twilight Princess …

@Dragonah
I don’t remember the game version have that silky beat, but thanks. Anyone have this trizack? Can’t find it at 1.5 minutes searching the intertubes. Send it to tips@infendo.com if you got it so we can use it on the podcast.

Wind Waker was the reason I bought a Cube in the first place. And then it was Prime.
If Wind Waker had the size of TP, I’d have to say Wind Waker was the best game on GNC. The music alone was far better in Waker. However, RE4 changed my life as much as Ocarina did on 64. I think Screw Attack was closer than most top 10’s, however everyone has their own preference.

both tp and windwaker are equal in awesomeness. i remember when windwaker came out. i was one of the few who said it was good and had to defend it against everyone. the whole sailing from island to island was completely unique. now all of a sudden it was the best? nobody liked being a little kid and no where did you ever get to grow up or change (i.e. majora’s mask) and to say tp was soulless and crap is just plain homo talk. tp is just as good as windwaker in its own right. beautifully done and enormeous with plenty of unique features. their top 10 list was pretty right on.

With all this talk about he merits and shortcomings of WW and TP, I can’t decide which one I like better anymore. I will say this about WW, though: It had a hell of a lot more heart and the story was better. I mean, any of the scenes with Gannondorf could easily considered the best in the series. What fantastic character development. Basically everything after you go down to (spoiler) for the final confrontation is fantastic. When (spoiler) shows up out of nowhere to foil Gannondorf is amazing. First time I played it, I actually cheered out loud. But then again, TP is fucking awesome. (the story could just have used a little sump’n sump’n)
Now about the Metroid remix he was talking about. He wasn’t talking about the track when they announced the third game. (anyone who knows anything about Metroid could tell you that that’s the Norfair Depths/Magmoor Caverns music) If you’ll reread it, what it says is, “Btw, does anyone know the name of that Metroid remix track they use right after saying ‘third place console’ near the beginning? Must. Get.” What he’s referring to is the track that’s playing through most of the intro. You know, at the beginning? It’s a silky smooth remix of the Metroid “game load start-em-up Samus-in-a-save-room” music. It can be most prominently heard when they say “third place console” and show some sales list and then again right before the countdown starts. I bring this up because I, too, MUST. GET. it. It’s quite bitchin and I need it. Anyone with info should say so…..nnnnn…..NOW.

i thought Luigi masion waas better then mario sunshine

Twilight Princess was a more focused game and not as tedious to play. I lost interest in Wind Waker near the end. TOO MUCH SAILING.
aerozeppelin
Too much sailing? Maybe in the beginning, but not after you get the teleportation.
My main concern for Windwaker was it was too damn easy! Bosses didn’t offer much of a challenge and their weaknesses were very obvious.
InvisibleMan
I will have to agree with this list EXCEPT…
For the glaring absence of Star Wars Rogue Leader (on EVERYONE’S lists!!) and Zelda : Wind Waker! WTF?? Rogue Leader was the real reason I bought the GameCube in the first place! And along with Super Mario Sunshine, those are the two games I put most hours into from the GC library!
C’mon, everyone! Nobody liked Rogue Leader on the GC??
