Colt’s Choice 7/28/19

Heya, guys! I’m back with a Special Colt’s Choice that I hope will never happen again because this was tough to choose! This week only, you will be getting not one, but two picks! The reason is because there is a slightly more expensive option, and a very cheap option, both of which have taken up my entire time this weekend and brought joy to my life whenever I turned my Switch on! Without further ado, let’s dive in!

The more expensive choice:

It is just past the Allstar break for baseball season, and if you’re like me, you’ve been loving every minute of it. It has been quite the season so far. But one thing the Switch has been lacking is great sports games, specifically baseball. Yeah, there’s RBI, but that is a full price game that I have never truly enjoyed. Well, Thursday, a little game dropped called Super Mega Baseball 2. It is the perfect balance of simulation and arcade, in my honest opinion. They aren’t real teams, which I originally wasn’t a fan of, but I’ve grown to enjoy it because now I’m not hunting around for those certain players I know play well. You can play normal games, tournaments, seasons, and even make custom teams and play others online! I’ve played a few online games now, and so far it has been extremely smooth and an actually enjoyable online experience. This game is $29.99, which is probably the most expensive game I’ve suggested. But trust me, if you enjoy baseball, you really will find this game a gem!

Now the cheaper option…

I was born in ’95. I missed a ton of great games in the majority of the ’90s because of this, and my parents not wanting me to play games at a very early age. (While I had a Game Boy Color and all the Nintendo handhelds, my first home consoles were a Sega Dreamcast and a GameCube.) This includes a special series of games that got shadow-dropped on Friday called DOOM! Man… this game is 26 years old and I have enjoyed every second of it! It still holds up pretty well and I sank sooo much time into it already. After I finish 1, I will be buying 2 and 3 immediately because it has been so enjoyable. Doom 1 and 2 are $4.99 and 3 is $9.99, and whether you have nostalgia for this game, or just want to see true retro FPS games, you need to pick these up! I promise you won’t regret it!

So there you have it, fam. The only time (I pray) that I will have two choices. The fact that it was so hard to pick between each of them speaks levels to how good they are. I strongly suggest you pick them up! Did you already pick them up? Are you planning to? Let me know in the comments section. And if you would like to play baseball please, hit me up!

That’s all for today, folks! Until next time, game on!
