Nintendo preparing to patch game-ending bug for Zelda: Skyward Sword

The patch is coming via download, reports Andriasang. Snail mail options will be available to game owners without Internet access. The news comes after a game-ending bug was discovered last week.

What are you playing this weekend?

I’m gonna keep slow roasting the evil that beseeches Skyloft. You know, treasure hunting, item upgrading, and island unlocking before slowly making my way to the next objective in Zelda: Skyward Sword (finishing the song of the hero quest). Never before have I savored a game this much for this long. What about you: What are you playing this weekend?

When’s the last time you stopped to take in a video game while playing?

I’m just under 35 hours in Zelda: Skyward Sword. My best guess says I’m 60% finished and there is substantial road still ahead. Hundreds of miles worth, considering all the side missions and extra treasure I still want to pursue. Simply put, I have never been this interested in a single player game for this long. Never. Not even close — not in my 27 years as a gamer. I want to se...

If anyone needs me, I’m busy playing the greatest single player game ever

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. An hour in, hard-to-please players like myself will be a little underwhelmed, but things quickly pick up in the second hour. By hour five, you’ll know you’re playing something special. By hour seven, you’ll know you’re playing one of the best Zeldas of all time. By hour 10, you’ll know you’re playing the best Zelda ever. By ho...

Zelda Skyward Sword: Best dungeons ever?

Not quite halfway in and Zelda: Skyward Sword is already trending as one of my favorite Zeldas ever. Depending on how it pans out ’ and I’m definitelly in it to win it ’ I’d rank it on par with A Link to the Past, Ocarina, Wind Waker, and Minish Cap’my current favs. It’s certainly more inventive and better than Twiligh...

Nintendo goes 7 of 8 on consoles: Newest Zelda latest to reach upper ’90 rating

With exception to Zelda II, the black sheep of the series, Nintendo has never released a Zelda game for consoles that went on to score less than a 95 in aggregate reviews. In fact, seven of a total eight console Zeldas have scored a rare 95 average or higher. Skyward Sword for Wii, currently at 95/100, is no exception. Simply put, the game is worthy of its nominally hot score. It’s quickly ...

Zelda: Skyward Sword has an overworld underworld complex

As producer Eiji Aonuma explains it: “Traditionally a dungeon is a place where it’s all about combat and going from room to room, defeating enemies to get to the end. In Zelda: Skyward Sword, we’re trying to move the small connected dungeon rooms into an area that might traditionally be considered a field or overworld. We’re thinking about creating dungeons where you don...

No more dungeons? Zelda producer talks upcoming Wii game

See that video up there? It’s an interview with Zelda producer Eiji Aonuma, in which he partly talks about the still unnamed Zelda game for Wii. Two things you need to know: 1) The game features 1-to-1 controls. That is to say, “the movement of your arms are precisely reflected in the gameplay whereby Link is wielding his sw...
