Kirby game headed to Nintendo 3DS in 2014

This morning’s Nintendo Direct ended with a teaser trailer for a new Nintendo 3DS title featuring everyone’s favorite ball of pink puff, Kirby. The trailer suggests the graphics and gameplay will closely resemble those of Kirby’s Return to Dream Land for Wii, so it’ll probably be a very traditional Kirby game. The minute-long trailer shows Kirby switching from the foregroun...

Hot off the news of Toon Link being confirmed for the Super Smash Bros. roster, a new challenger appears: Sonic the Hedgehog. Announced by Satoru Iwata during today’s Nintendo Direct, Sonic the Hedgehog makes his second appearance on a Super Smash Bros. title and becomes the second third party character (Mega Man being announced at E3 last June) to join the expanding roster. The trailer reve...

New Super Mario 3D World trailer has a distinctly jazzy feel…and lots of new gameplay

Today’s Nintendo Direct opened with perhaps the most extensive look at Super Mario 3D World to date. It showed off equal amounts of the game’s character and gameplay, with a jazzy tune playing throughout and a look at power-ups galore. To name a few, the game will feature the cat suit we’ve already seen, the return of Super Mario 3D Land’s boomerang suit, a cherry that spli...

Kanto starters available to choose from in Pokemon X and Y, mega evolutions revealed

Players who pick up Pokemon X or Pokemon Y will, of course, have to choose between three new starter Pokemon: Chespin, Fennekin, and Froakie. Today’s Nintendo Direct revealed that, in addition to one of these, players will get to choose one of the original starters: Bulbasaur, Charmander, or Squirtle (I’m wiping a tear of nostalgia away as I type). Going even further, the broadcast rev...

Pokemon “cloud” storage of sorts, the Pokemon Bank, announced

It’s 5:22am my time, and I’ve just finished watching the promised Pokemon-themed Nintendo Direct. Arguably the largest announcement of the Direct video was that of the Pokemon Bank, a secure online storage bank that’ll hold up to 3,000 of your Pokemon. The Pokemon Bank is downloadable for the Nintendo 3DS, with an annual fee attached. Thus, it appears to be an optional service. I...

Nintendo has been busy uploading videos to YouTube since the end of their Nintendo Direct presentation for E3 this morning.  I counted 20 new videos (including the Direct itself) that have been uploaded since their stream ended.  They also shared a few videos yesterday, bringing their total to 24 videos in the same number of hours. All of the main features from the Nintendo Direct each have their ...
