A bevy of  new artwork from The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds has surfaced from Nintendo today, and one piece of art shows off what appears to be a familiar foe: Is that Ganondorf?

Yes, the the headline alone for this post may sound like a “Well, duh!” type of inquiry, but it does deserve some bit of discussion. The art depicts a character that bares comparisons to the Zelda franchises most vital antagonist (the clothing and the staff, for example), but with several differences (most notably the hair style). Nintendo has yet to confirm the identity of this character, but Zelda fans will sure to dissect every bit of this piece of art.

What do you think? Is this obviously the same Ganondorf we know, or is this a completely different character linked (no pun intended) to the villain’s Gerudo heritage? Tell us in the comments below.

The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds is scheduled for release on the Nintendo 3DS on November 22.

Harrison Milfeld is a writer, editor, and freelance journalist from Missouri. Ever since he could walk, Harrison has been an avid fan of the world of Nintendo. For years, he has purchased every one of the company's subsequent products (yes, including the Virtual Boy and eReader). It wasn't until he was a young teen when he bought a PS2 that he began to embrace cross-console relations, a decision he doesn't regret. When he's not gaming, Harrison is looking to break into the magazine journalism industry and realize his dream of becoming a features reporter.

  1. IS that the unholy lovechild of Ganon and Kefka?

  2. I looks more like a different character from the Gerudo race (not Ganondorf)…

  3. I don’t really think this character is Ganondorf. But I think it’s kinda like an alternate world version of him, seeing as the trailer showed a character named Hilda, who looked like a dark-haired Zelda adorned with the upside-down Triforce.

  4. @Drahken: He sure looks like it.
