Wreck-it Ralph could be the best videogame movie ever

With all the great game news pouring in from E3 this week, one game-related item has gotten a bit overshadowed in the shuffle: Disney has finally released some real film images and an official trailer for the upcoming CGI videogame fantasy extravaganza, Wreck-it Ralph.

All I can say is, if you haven’t seen the trailer yet, follow this link. I agree with what others have voiced: if this turns out as good as it looks, the world’s getting the game movie equivalent of Who Framed Roger Rabbit. Directed by Rich Moore, who seems to know his arcade and console history, Wreck-it Ralph looks like a lot of fun and a potential gold mine for Disney. It could appeal to adults and kids, men and women, core gamers and casual players, grade schoolers and I-played-Qbert-in-college geezers like me.

One way or the other, it’s great to see Bowser in a Disney film looking more like himself and less like Dennis Hopper. Love his spit-take in the trailer!
