Wii U Error Strikes Japan

medium

Japanese gamers have been running into a rather annoying error, Error Code 105-3102, when attempting to access the Wii U eShop, as well as updating the Wii U firmware.

So far the error has not been reported stateside, or in Europe.  Nintendo is aware of the issue and has narrowed the cause down to a program within the Wii U itself, which can be fixed with a patch.

Sadly, this error has appeared at the worst possible time for Japanese Wii U owners.  With the release of the Wii U Dragon Quest X online, the error is preventing gamers from downloading the beta from the eShop.  Many Japanese gamers purchased the premium version of the console based on its preloaded exclusive registration form for the beta test, and are upset that they cannot access the beta due to the error.

Nintendo expects to have a patch released this weekend.  Although it is not an immediate fix, at least the console is still usable…unlike the many copies of the new SIM City that are currently collecting dust while EA fixes their server issues.

“Our Iwacchi (a cutesy nickname for Nintendo president, Satoru Iwata) will fix it for us!” said MEGUMIbernadette in the video above.

On a side note, I would like to wish a very happy birthday to Ralph Baer, the Father of video games!  Happy 91st!

***also, as requested by some of you out there, I will work on a video of my console collection and will attempt to post it this weekend.  If you would rather see it in the forums, please let me know, otherwise I will post it as a regular article.
