This Day In Gaming History – April 25th

On this day 4 years ago, NES Remix 2 was released on the WiiU. NES Remix 2 featured several games that were absent from the first title, including Kirby’s Adventure, Kid Icarus, Punch Out!!, both versions of Super Mario Bros. 2, Super Mario Bros. 3, Zelda 2: The Adventure of Link, and many more.

NES Remix 1 and 2 featured a number of challenges and “remixes” to classic NES games, which involved everything from simple goals to playing the games in unique and unusual ways.

The series began as a pet project by EAD Tokyo’s Koichi Hayashida, during which time he developed 100 challenges by himself. Hayashida later said the desire to develop the game came about from a desire to play NES games at work – a desire we all share, Mr. Hayashida!

Gamer by day, game designer by night - Lukas studied Digital Arts in school, and grew up in the age of the N64 and Gamecube. He's the youngster of the bunch, but that doesn't keep him from shouting out at every available opportunity on Infendo Radio. He often finds himself at the edge of counter-culture (hates Metroid Prime, loves Other M), but isn't afraid to dive into the next big budget AAA title with the best of 'em.
