We’ve all known for weeks that Nintendo had plans to unveil the full details on their NFC options for the Wii U and 3DS, but the company has finally pulled back the curtains on how it will work.

In the video above, Bill Trinen of Nintendo of America shares how the new NFC figurines (now called amiibo) will interact with various Wii U and 3DS titles. The first title Trinen mentions is Super Smash Bros. for the Wii U, while other titles such as Mario Kart 8 will soon implement the amiibo features.

For years, he has purchased every one of the company's subsequent products (yes, including the Virtual Boy and eReader). It wasn't until he was a young teen when he bought a PS2 that he began to embrace cross-console relations, a decision he doesn't regret. When he's not gaming, Harrison is looking to break into the magazine journalism industry and realize his dream of becoming a features reporter.
