New details for Pokemon Black 2 and White 2 emerge. The game still isn’t coming out for 3DS.

Pokémon Black 2 and White 2 is a strange specimen when it comes to Pokémon releases. Never before has there been a direct sequel to a Pokémon title, and even stranger still, the game will be released for Nintendo’s last generation handheld the DS. According to Japanese magazine CoroCoro, there is certainly a lot to be excited about in this year’s new Pokémon title, even if the game is destined for only two dimensions.

Many familiar faces will be returning in Pokémon Black 2 and White 2, including the Champion Alder and the main character’s best friends Bianca and Cheren, that latter of which will return as a normal-type gym leader. Bianca will be assistant to Professor Juniper in Pokémon Black 2 and White 2, and will apparently be the one to give you your starter Pokémon at the start of the game.

In more exciting news, the game will include what is to be deemed as the Pokémon World Tournament, where trainers will be able to battle gym leaders from past Pokémon titles such as Brock, Misty, and even Giovanni. There will even be a feature in the game that lets you make a short movie of some sort, and display them in the Hollywood themed area called PokéWood.

I would still have preferred the game be a brand new 3DS title, but by the looks of things Pokémon Black 2 and White 2 won’t be a disappointment. At the very least, it will give fans of the series something to hold them off until a proper 3DS is revealed.
