Minna no Rhythm Tengoku tops Japanese sales charts, Wii’s elsewhere jealous

Aside from the occasional Virtual Console or WiiWare title, I am sad to say that my Wii has received as much action this summer as the pimply kid on prom night. Thankfully there are  titles in the pipeline such as Skyward Sword and Rhythm Heaven to fight for my hard earned free time.

Although no definitive release date has been confirmed for Rhythm Heaven stateside, the game has already released in Japan to much commercial success. For the first two weeks on sale in Japan, Minna no Rhythm Tengoku (as Rhythm Heaven is known in Japan) has topped the sales charts with sales of 121,043 and 83,870, respectively.

In the short time I was able to play the game at this years E3, it was clear that Rhythm Heaven will be a very enjoyable experience whenever the powers that be at NoA decide the time is right for release. Check out the E3 trailer if you have never experienced the DS title and want to get an idea of what all the hubbub is about.

Don’t worry Wii, I will have some fresh disks for you to eat soon, promise.
