Nintendo has insisted that they will work with 3rd party developers to release key multi-platform games. Unfortunately, it seems as though not all of the third party developers have jumped on board just yet. Dave Cox, Head of product planning and development at Konami, has stated that Castlevania: Lord of Shadow 2 will not be coming to the Wii U…or will it.
In an upcoming interview, Dave had the following to say. “We have no plans for a Wii U version. It’s a great console, but my team are focused on PS3 and Xbox 360 at the moment.”
Now, in the first sentence, he states that there are no plans for the Wii U version, but in the next he sates that the focus is on PS3 and 360, at the moment. Could this mean that we will see a Wii U version after the PS3 and 360 projects is complete? Or will they wait to participate in future Nintendo games?
I think one thing to keep in mind here is that they are not “ditching” Nintendo for the competitors. Dave Cox admitted that the Wii U is a great console, which tells me that they are not going to ignore the system, but keep focus on their current project for now.
