Off topic: who’s seeing Scott Pilgrim today?

For those of you that aren’t in the know, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World is a new Edgar Wright film based on the Scott Pilgrim comic book series. The series was heavily inspired by games like Zelda, Ninja Gaiden, River City Ransom, Sonic the Hedgehog, and many other memorable titles. I might be seeing it with a good friend of mine today. How about you?

What do you plan to do with your old DS once you get a 3DS?

The 3DS is backwards compatible, so it’s probably going to replace your older system. I think I might keep mine. But what about you? Are you going to give it to a friend? Sell it a GameStop? Trash it? Let’s hear it in the comments!

Mr. T game in development

This is somewhat old news, but it never really got much coverage. ZootFly, a Slovenian game developer is currently working on a game based on the Mr. T series of graphic novels for the Wii, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. It will be composed of platforming, puzzles, and beat ’em up elements. As if that wasn’t ridiculous enough, the plot focuses on Mr. T in fierce combat with a mechaniz...

Ocarina of Time 3D deserves an orchestrated score

I’ve fallen in love with the music from Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2, and I eagerly anticipate Skyward Sword’s orchestrated score. It seems that ever since Super Smash Bros. Brawl, it’s been a trend to have soundtracks written and performed for a symphony orchestra. Ocarina of Time has one of the most thrilling soundtracks in the history of Nintendo, so why not take things a step f...

Speculation: Nintendo’s next system an “evolution,” but not a “revolution”

It’s been almost 4 years since the Wii’s release. The system has definitely lived up to it’s codename, Revolution, and will continue to do so with loads of upcoming titles. The Wii was built on innovation, like many of Nintendo’s consoles before it. The NES brought us arcade quality graphics to our living rooms with a unique, D-Pad controller. The N64 brought us 3D graphics...

Slimy nunchuk control stick?

Sorry if this grosses you out. I think I’m more disgusted than any of you, though. I’ve noticed that if I don’t use my Nunchuk for a few weeks, the control stick builds up some seriously nasty slime. I never eat when I play video games and I don’t smoke. What’s more, I’m kind of a germaphobe, so I wash my hands A LOT. That includes before and after I touch video...

Zelda music appearing in Scott Pilgrim Vs. the World

Edgar Wright’s film adaptation of the Scott Pilgrim comic series is looking awesomer and awesomer. According to Siliconera, who saw a screening of the film at Comi-Con, the movie utilizes remixed music and iconic sound effects from The Legend of Zelda series, notably, The Great Fairy Theme. To acquire permission from Nintendo for the use of the song, director Edgar Wright had to write to Shi...

A smidgen of Ocarina of Time 3DS footage

French Nintendo news site, Puissance Nintendo, managed to snag a brief bit of animation from the Ocarina of Time 3DS demo, (immediately after instruction otherwise.) It’s barely enough to classify it as a teaser, but it’s exciting anyway.

Brain Age speedrun will blow your prefrontal cortex

This game’s software uses the direction of brush strokes to determine it’s input, and not what the doodles themselves look like. This tool-assisted speedrun utilizes heavy glitch abuse in an extremely creative and awesome way.

Studio Ghibli is making a DS game

Many are familiar with Studio Ghibli Academy Award-winning Spirted Away, and other inspiring works such as Kiki’s Delivery Service, Princess Mononoke, My Neighbor Totoro, Howls Moving Castle, and so forth. The studio has now begun work on a game for the DS and PS3. Ninokuni stars a child character named Oliver, illustrated in the dreamy, quasi-historical style of Ghibli animation films. The ...
